Dead & Company

Sphere, Las Vegas

Treatment had the privilege of working with long term collaborators Dead & Company on their recent residency at Sphere Las Vegas. Opening to rave reviews, the show draws on a rich visual history of a band who formed in San Francisco during the rise of the counterculture of the 1960s.

The 160,000 square feet wrap-around screen allows the audience to be transformed from the streets of San Francisco to outer space, from new undiscovered worlds then back in time to legendary venues from the band's past.

Highlights of the show included a psychedelic journey following the iconic Uncle Sam re-imagined for the spherical screen; time travel from modern day San Francisco through fantastical portals before arriving back at 710 Ashbury Street in 1965, the year the band formed; and Drums/Space, a percussive segment lead by original member Mickey Hart which turns the venue into kaleidoscopic visuals reacting in realtime to the drums being played on stage.

Treatment were responsible for design and production of video content and overall show direction led by Sam Pattinson.
